“As a dancer quite far along on the hypermobility spectrum with more odd injuries than I can list, Monica's keen eye and acute awareness of the body has (this is no exaggeration) completely changed my life. I have worked with her for over 7 years and the exercises she has given me have helped me to move without pain, work past my injuries, and finally grow my strength again. She has given me my agency back in my body and after years with her, I am still amazed every session at how much she teaches me in so little time.”

“I have worked with Monica for over 5 years and am nothing short of astonished by how much her instruction has changed my life.  After abdominal surgery, my goals suddenly changed and Monica was able to shift our practice without missing a beat.  Her responsive, creative approach keeps me engaged and our sessions fly by.  She's especially gifted at finding cues and metaphors that help me unlock new ways of moving and she encourages me to lean into what works for me rather than the orthodoxy of some pilates instruction.  Thanks to her, I now approach movement with more curiosity and less judgement.  I couldn't recommend her more highly”

Monica Mordaunt is a Pilates instructor, movement professional, and performer living her dream of sharing movement with others. Beginning movement at a young age, Monica trained in competitive dance at local dance studios in Orange County, California and continued her studies at Chapman University, earning a BFA in Dance Performance. Here, Monica was introduced to somatic movement and the importance of dance medicine which stayed with her throughout her professional performing years in Los Angeles and New York City. Years of experiencing chronic injuries from overuse and hyper mobility sent Monica down a path of certifications in Yoga, Reiki, and eventually Pilates at the Kane School of Core Integration. She taught on staff at Kinected in New York City, completing their residency program and working as a Senior level instructor and Teacher Trainer.

Striving to find movement that worked best for her body, Monica continued her education at The Neuro Studio completing the Advanced Neuro Techniques course and Advanced Practitioner Mentorship. She is a level 3 Neuro Studio Practitioner.

Monica founded Mordaunt Movement to share her expertise with others who are looking for a unique approach to movement and to work with someone who meets them where they are at in their healing journey.

Joining forces with Stephanie Lang Bittner of Bittner Movement, they opened The Movement Study in Midtown in August 2024 as a home for in person sessions and movement education and collaboration with fellow instructors.
